Birds visiting this UK woodland

There are a remarkable number of birds and wildlife visiting the woodland.  We are lucky too – as the woodland has three lovely lakes which attract an even greater species of birds and wildlife  such as the Kingfisher, Heron,  Reed Warbler, Long Tailed Tit and Pied Wagtail which are regularly seen (can’t promise!). Waterfowl such as ducks and geese may visit and consequently present exciting photographic opportunities within this magical woodland!

Below are some of the typical birds you might catch sight of during the seasons (mouse-over to see bird names and maybe some brief bird song!- some are more common than others and you have to find the ‘tweets’!).   A caption is also seen together with an enlarged view when clicking on individual images to reach the ‘slide-viewer’. Once in this mode – try using the forward and back arrows on your keyboard to browse each image.  Also have a look at the  Wildlife  pages.

For wonderful  places to visit such as Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst, Lamberhurst, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells itself – visit the Location pages. Brighton and London are musts to travel to and London is just 45 mins by train.  By car – Brighton is about 1 hour away.

The current birds displayed in the galleries are mostly all copyright of Mick Garnier who has an extensive collection.  Chris Butcher has contributed a few birds recently too.  Have you seen Vanda’s wild flower & butterfly collection?  They can be made available at various sizes for print or for commercial use at modest usage rates.  Please do not use the images without permission from Mick Garnier or Chris Butcher.
