Wildlife/Gallery

Wildlife in this woodland and woodlands around Kent

Find a place to sit, be quiet and just wait… let the wildlife come to you.  Maybe make sure your camera shutter is on the ‘silent’ option. Besides the wide species of birds, you will see the occasional fox (sometimes with cubs…) or maybe deer, pheasant, wildfowl, rabbits, stoats, and if you are extremely quiet and lucky – some badgers!  A surprising absence of bears (my wife is Canadian – so it’s a big disappointment!).

If you look closely, you’ll find slow-worms looking like snakes.  Don’t worry, I have never seen an Adder here (the only venomous snake native to Britain at the time of writing!).  Even closer – and you’ll find (at the right seasons in the year), ladybirds, grass-hoppers, butterflies – Cabbage and Red Admiral plus the delightful little pale blue butterflies!  The bees are busy too. What else can you find?

Don't move... or I'll turn and hide

Don’t move… or I’ll turn, run and hide
